Rome Walks is delighted to offer an exclusive day-long excursion to Naples, to sample some of the best the city has to offer. Put yourself in the capable hands of an experienced local English-speaking guide who will accompany you every step of the way, leading you through Naples' narrow streets with finesse and engaging you with the enthusiastic hospitality typical of the city's natives. Traditional markets, world-famous pizza, and a guided visit by an expert to one of the best museums in the world will make this a special day for all. Our Discover Naples day trip departs from Rome Termini station. Participants travel on one of Italy's state-of-the-art high speed trains and will be met by a local guide upon arrival. Your guide will accompany you the entire day: spend the morning visiting sights along Spaccanapoli, which traces the ancient Decumanus of the Greco-Roman city Neapolis: San Gregorio Armeno, home to the artisans that spend all year crafting terracotta figurines used in the Presepe (nativity scenes). A vital folk culture keeps this art alive: among the statues of Mary, Joseph and the shepherds you will also find contemporary soccer players and politicians! The Chapel of San Severo, home to the famous veiled Christ as well as chilling anatomical models from the 18th century. The austere church of Santa Chiara, which gives way to a hidden cloister completely covered in colorful majolica tiles and lush grapevines. Stop for lunch for pizza: but not just any pizza. The guide will accompany the group back to the train station to return to Rome by approximately 6:30 pm. Our Discover Naples! Meets at Termini Train Station at 8:20 am and returns to Rome at approximately 6:30 pm. Price per person: 200 euro, includes lunch (pizza and beverage), entry ticket to Archaeological Museum and full-day guide.
