Our Discover Naples day trip departs from Rome Termini station. Participants travel on one of Italy's state-of-the-art high speed trains and will be met by a local guide upon arrival. Your guide will accompany you the entire day: spend the morning visiting sights along Spaccanapoli, which traces the ancient Decumanus of the Greco-Roman city Neapolis:
San Gregorio Armeno, home to the artisans that spend all year crafting terracotta figurines used in the Presepe (nativity scenes). A vital folk culture keeps this art alive: among the statues of Mary, Joseph and the shepherds you will also find contemporary soccer players and politicians! The Chapel of San Severo, home to the famous veiled Christ as well as chilling anatomical models from the 18th century. The austere church of Santa Chiara, which gives way to a hidden cloister completely covered in colorful majolica tiles and lush grapevines. Stop for lunch for pizza: but not just any pizza. Naples is the birthplace of pizza and here you will taste the original and the learn the story of its origins.

In the afternoon, visit the National Archaeological Museum of Naples, home to outstanding collections of mosaics, frescoes and sculptures, gems and household items recovered from excavations in Pompeii and Herculaneum.
The guide will accompany the group back to the train station to return to Rome by approximately 6:30 pm.
